A Boston police officer was dragged by a car on Tuesday after the driver refused to stop, then crashed into several other cars and a pole before her arrest, Boston police said.
Police learned that at around 2:30 p.m. of a woman driving in the area of Tremont and Stuart streets had hit several vehicles in the area, a spokesperson previously told MassLive.
Based on preliminary information, the driver did not stop for police and dragged an officer in the same area as those two streets, Sgt. Detective John Boyle, the department’s chief spokesman, wrote in an email.
The officer was evaluated at the scene of where the incident happened and she was not taken to the hospital, Boyle wrote. Another officer was hospitalized for evaluation, though he was not dragged by the car and is not hurt.
The woman then struck several other cars and continued driving before she hit a light pole at the corner of Herald Street and Shawmut Avenue, Boyle wrote.
After this, she continued driving before they stopped in the area of Albany and Plympton streets and was arrested, Boyle wrote.
She was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and has non-life-threatening injuries, Boyle added. Guarded by police, the woman will not be booked until she is released from the hospital.
